 HELLO EVERYBODY!!!

First of all, I want to remind all of you that next Monday's email will also have an order form for pre-ordering non-seafood items. Think babka, cheese, tahini, pairing salts and two new additions: fresh bagels and a combo pack of frozen puff pastry & croissant dough (1lb each) that can be very useful for Thanksgiving. You guys will be shopping for Thanksgiving stuff next week anyway. Why not get some really good stuff for your pantry and freezer and support some really cool people, right? We would deliver the stuff on Thursday of that week as usual. The Wednesday order form email will have some of those items but it will be limited then so jump on the Monday one. (set an alarm...you know who i am talking about..)

This week, we are doing something a little different. We are just selling seafood!! Boy, it feels so weird. Kind of like wearing shoes without socks or something like that.

We have some great stuff, too. First off, fresh smelts are here! These little beauties are the perfect snack to prepare. They are flavorful and easy to cook,. Simply dust with seasoned flour, sautee in a pan with oil, flip, finish the other side and plate. Squeeze of lemon and another pinch of salt and you are good to go. A nice cheap snack at $9lb for head off and gutted smelts. That's pretty good, indeed.

Another good deal is local Black sea bass. This sweet tasting fillet comes from New Jersey fishermen. We love supporting the local cats when we can. This is usually a restaurant fish and we are seeing the price drop due to the Covid surge affecting people's desire to go to restaurants. Plus the weather hasn't been friendly to them so this means cheaper fish for us. At $14lb for fillets skin on and pinbone out, it is quite a deal. And this fish is beautiful!! Here is a quick recipe for how to prepare it. (more recipes on the website, smallworldseafood.com)

Swordfish abounds as well from boats up  North. Once again, beautiful fish perfect for grilling this weekend or try braising it in a curry, coconut or otherwise. O.....M......G.......The price is also cheap at $13lb.

Venezuelan fresh Jumbo lump crabmeat is back again this week and, guess what? The price dropped! It'll be $22lb which is pretty great considering that pasteurized crabmeat has risen to near $28lb for jumbo. I hope you guys like it that I am such a shopper of deals. I find that part of our jobs is to find you the freshest fish at the best prices. We roll with the market together so when the price goes down, we take it down too. We are kind of like seafood financial advisors, if  you will.

Mussels are  back this week. Oysters are  Blish Points from Massachusetts. Kippered salmon is back in the offing for smoked fish and salmon is holding steady at $9lb. I think we beat everybody in town for both price and quality and we love that.

Seeing everyone enjoy restaurant quality fish without having to break the bank is rewarding for us, just so you know. We love the stories you share with us about how some of these meals bring your families together or bring back memories only reinforces our desire to continue doing this. I know it isn't Thanksgiving yet but we are oozing with gratitude here and we just wanted to let you all know.

Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff. Here is the order form.
