When restaurants and other businesses were ordered to shut down, the first thing we thought of was..how can i help my neighbors get good seafood. The supermarkets were crazy, we were freefalling into an unknowable circumstance. Well, people on my block needed to eat and we were still in the supply chain for fish. 10 people ordered fish. The next day, a buddy of mine, Andy, saw me giving out fish to my neighbors and asked what I was doing. I told him and he asked if he and some of his neighbors could order too. Of course, I said. Whatever you need. From our two blocks on Woodstock St in Fairmount, this whole thing began.
Now we do 3 stops in Fairmount, 2 stops in Rittenhouse/Fitler Square, 1 stop in Washington Square and 1 pick up stop at our facility located at 444 N 4th St with more in the plans. What we do is the same thing we did for restaurants. We would work with chefs and scour the markets for the freshest fish to serve for the weekend. Now, we are doing that for you. We only deliver to pick up points at the end of the week because that's when fish is at its freshest right now. We find the freshest fish at its peak of seasonality and quality. We then portion the fish into individual sizes of 5oz to 7oz and bag them in 2lb increments.
We send you an email at the beginning of the week to inform you of what is going on the marketplace and, maybe, what we can look forward to for the week. Then, on Wednesday, we email you an order form, if you live in Fairmount or plan to pick up at the shop, so you can place your order. You pick up on Thursday.. If you live in Rittenhouse/FitlerWashington Square, we email you an order form on Thursdays at 9am for you to order. You will pick up at either of three stops of Friday. It's that simple.
We bring you the highest quality seafood. You try out one of the recipes on our website and prepare a restaurant quality dish. You enjoy it with your family. You take pics and send them to us.
