Week of December 16, 2024 - Small World Seafood Update

Hello everybody!!

Can you feel it? The excitement, the speed, the approach to the bottom of the hill? I am not talking about skiing. i am talking about 2024...Two more weeks of buying seafood for Grand Slam holidays. This week is the week you need to make your purchases for Christmas and Hanukkah which is next week, by the way. We've got loads of goodies for you.

Now, some of you may not be able to pick up this week so we will have walk in hours to our shop on Monday the 23rd from 10am til 1pm. Most things available including whole sides of salmon, mussels, littleneck clams, oysters, etc. Otherwise, we will be working as normal next week with pick ups on Thursday. I will be sending out an order form on Christmas day (Wednesday) so be on the lookout next week.

Okay, let's roll into it! We have more sushi grade tombo coming our way! Straight from Hawaii, this variety of albacore tuna is terrific! More ruby red than cream color and will absolutely melt in your mouth. Is there a better way to begin the holiday weeks than with a nice healthy poke bowl??? I think not...

And with Christmas eve being on Tuesday night, lots of blast frozen items come in handy. So, we thought that one of the Seven Fishes could be Chilean Seabass! We blast freeze whole sides of small Chilean seabass ranging from 1.2-1.6lb each. Perfect for a center of the table item for your group!

We also have more cod cheeks. More head on shell on North Carolina shrimp 16/20 in size. We have more smelts. We have more fresh sardines. More Martha's Vineyard bay scallops. All blast frozen and ready for the feast.

But what would Christmas be with some lobster thingamadoodles? So, let's lobster it up! We will have fresh cooked claw and knuckle meat from Nova Scotia! Shelf life is a week to 10 days so perf for Christmas. Great for pastas or risottos...

We are bringing in more South African lobster tails but this time, we bumped up the size a touch from 4-4.5oz tails to 5-6oz tails!! These are the best of the best and packed with meat! Go big or go home,. baby!!!

And then, we got working with Matt from Setttantatre Pasta Co on some lobster ravioli! You get a pound or ravioli that we've frozen for you to use on the holiday! Pretty cool, yeah?

And since lots of you really like mussels AND littleneck clams for Christmas eve, this week we will have both! We usually alternate them but not this week! And don't worry. Both of these will be coming in at the end of the week straight from the source so you have a good week shelf life. Perfect for Christmas eve! Oh. And same for the oysters!

Yes on Faroe island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade whether fresh or frozen. Best of the best. We have branzini butterflied too. Boy, if you can't get to seven with this week's list, I don't even...

Lots of you really like the Maine oysters the past few weeks so this week we will go back there for more. We are bringing in Topsiders from the Maine. Another winner.

PEI mussels and llitleneck clams are the shellfish of the week.... We lonsa and smoked fish...So many good things...Herring will be back as well as kippered salmon and Osetra caviar..yum!

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...And if you won't see you this week, Merry Christmas, happy Hannukah to you and your family!
