July 21, 2022 Fitler/Rittenhouse/Washington Sq Order Form
Well, it's good to know that there is some good stuff peaking in the summer when you want it to. This doesn't always happen so I guess something in the universe seems to be aligning a little bit. Or it is just dumb luck. Like a broken clock that is right twice a day. Who knows...Hahaha...whatever, though, right?
Fresh cooked claw and knuckle lobster meat from the same producers we got it from for July 4th weekend. Really excellent stuff. You get a pound with which you can make 4-5 lobsters rolls, a mondo bowl of pasta, a luscious risotto or a nice lobster salad! The shelf life in the fridge is week but it shouldn't last that long! A couple of recipes on our site for lobster rolls and such.
And then, we have yellowfin tuna from the cold, crisp, clean northern waters Canada. This tuna also known as Ahi is the same as you will find in any sushi restaurant in the city. Sushi grade and also sears up beautifully, this is top of the line stuff. We will also have nori sheets available for those who want to play with making your own rolls. You will make so many rolls, you will be shocked at the cost differential between what you make and what it would have cost in a sushi restaurant! And learning how to make good sushi rice is a skill worth exploring. Even if you don't make rolls, it forms the base for one killer poke bowl.
Salmon from Faroe Islands is on the plate this week. Also sushi grade but terrific marinated with our miso glaze. Just check out the recipe on our website for that. Amazing.
Hokkaido scallops are here again this week and gorgeous. They sear perfectly and can also be eaten raw. Slice them up thin and make a carpaccio or crudo with some of our ponzu and a few jalapeno slices and you will rock the house! And, start of with a nice shrimp shumai appetizer and, well, there you go...
We are moving back to frozen North Atlantic cod loins like what we used to have. Great stuff to make fish and chips, roast up or for making a nice brothy dish with.
Mussels are the shellfish of the week. Is there a cheaper, posher meal you make than a bowl of mussels over pasta or with a chunk of bread? Not for the price, I tell ya.
Oysters are beautiful Northern Belles from PEI. Meaty, slight bigger and, well, just delish!
Plenty of marinated fish like anchovies (boquerones), sardines and herring. We have tuna spread this week as well as Acme smoke trout fillets. Yummy yum yum..
All the other usual suspects are around as well so have fun, take your time, hurry up and get your order in!
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
