November 17, 2022 Fitler/Rittenhouse/Washington Sq Order Form (Copy)

I was gonna say something cutesy but we have too much to talk about!! Please try to read as much of this as you can. Lots of good info that can be helpful to you.

First of all, We will NOT be doing pick ups next week because of Thanksgiving. So, this week is the week to load up!! You won't see us for another two weeks. One caveat, on Monday Nov 21 and Tuesday Nov 22, that is right before Thanksgiving, we will open up our shop at 444 N 4th St for walk ins FROM 11AM TIL 5PM. We will have lots of blast frozen and vac packed fish including salmon portions and whole sides along with most of our other usual suspects. Bring cash or a card for that. No pre-orders for Monday and Tuesday. First come first serve.

Okay, let's roll into it. First of all, fresh Nova Scotia cooked claw and knuckle lobster meat!! This is the good stuff people. It is cooked so you have a good week shelf life on it but you could definitely freeze it if you want. Just to give you an idea of how the cost relates, it takes 5lb of whole lobster to generate 1lb of meat. So this is like getting 5lb of lobster but you don't even have to do any work!!

This will be the last time we see local tuna this year probably til the spring. This is sushi grade yellowfin (Ahi) coming to you skin off and bloodline out so ready to crust, tartare, crudo, or sushi roll it! You can freeze this too. Plastic wrap each fillet to retain moisture and you are good to go!

Fresh rainbow trout from our friends in Idaho! Either head on or head off! In both cases, they come boneless so prefect to stuff with crab meat filling or a fish cake!! Better than turkey, in my book. These fish freeze super well, too. Plastic wrap each fish to do so.

Jonah crab claws are around too!! These babies or the lesser known cousins of Stone Crab claws from down south. These claws from up north come in the shell with the knuckles connected and triple scored. I posted a recipe on how to open then up. Super easy and they...are....delish! And at a fraction of the price of Stone crabs. Plus, they come frozen so you can break them our for the holiday and be the hero!

We have tons of beautiful Faroe Island salmon (sushi grade) as well as Hokkaido scallops for you (sushi grade as well). Both are freezable.

Three great special features for you all!! First of all, some delish Aaji's roasted Garlic Lonsa! This Indian Coastal tomato based condiment laced with Indian spices is mind blowing good on fish. yeah, fish. It is also versatile enough to use with a bag of mussels. Yum! Or on a cheese plate or combines with labneh for a ridick combo of spices and tangy creaminess. Shelf life is month so great for the holiday.

Speaking of labneh, we have some for you all this week from our favorite Dairy, Erivan in Berks County!! This is, by far, the best labneh you'll ever have. But don't just take my word. It is the official labneh of Zahav!! Great to spread out on a plate with olive oil and zaatar or combine with fruit, roasted meats and don't get me started about using it instead of cream cheese and topping it with smoked fish..Yum!! Shelf life is 6 weeks!

Last but not least is a lactic cheese from our friend Yoav Perry from Perrystead Dairy in Kensington! The cheese he is offering you guys hasn't seen shelves yet anywhere! it is called 'Toasted' and just won third place in the World Cheese Competitions in Europe!!! Wild oregano and sage are torched before it is aged to create a bloomy rind. Tastes like sitting by a campfire..You guys get to have it before anyone else!!

Okay, more than three things. We still have Oui Pastries frozen pie dough and Shevy's Babka chocolate babka kits..but not many. If you missed out,

Okay, smoked fish. Smoked salmon and smoked trout have a month shelf life but can be frozen. Same with Salmon Char Siu. Whitefish salad has a month shelf life but cannot be frozen. Marinated fish have a couple of months of shelf life.

Mussels are the shellfish of the week. Grab a bag for the weekend. 5 day shelf life. Oysters will be Harvest Moons from Massachusetts. 10-14 day shelf life. Nice and a little bigger than the Canadian ones. Meaty, for sure. And, yes, definitely good for Thanksgiving!! Just store them in your fridge in the back where it is coldest and leave them alone..They'll be fine..

And don't forget your frozen shrimp, pasteurized crab meat (good in the fridge for a year) and condiments and sauces...And dog treats...

All the other usual suspects are around as well so have fun, take your time, hurry up and get your order in!

Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
