Nov 11, 2021 Order Form Fitler/Rittenhouse/Washington Sq only

Hello, everyone! Boy is it exciting to begin getting into another season of fish. Lots of people think that winter is not a good season for fish but that would not be true. In my opinion, it is the best. Demand is lower so supply is usually more abundant and prices are, therefore, cheaper. Fish that have been migrating up and down the coasts are chilling out, eating lots and fattening up (kind of what lots of us will be doing in a couple of weeks). The southern hemisphere is going into their spring and summer so many a peek at snappers, groupers, etc. Anyway, I'm excited..

The first feature this week is a fish we haven't seen in many months. Striped bass! Ever heard of striped bass from Canada? Yeah, me neither. Couldn't believe it. Turns out that there are stripers that make it up to the Mirimachi River in New Brunswick every year. Recreational anglers love to fish for it like everywhere else. However, there is a small tribe called the Natoaganeg First Nation who have the only license to fish commercially for this fish and only in the fall. They don't catch much at all but it is enough to help sustain them and provide for themselves. We love that, right? Anyway, special stuff by people who really care about the fish in a spiritual way too.

The second feature this week is more beautiful swordfish from up north from both Canada and Maine. I think sword from cold waters in unrivalled in both flavor and texture. Great with the Mediterranean marinade for 30 minutes, grilled or pan seared and then topped off with another brushstroke of that marinade after cooking. My lord...

It's been quite a while for this next item. We stayed away due to insane prices and to allow the supply to build back up but how about some fresh Venezuelan Jumbo Lump carb meat! Everybody say yeah!! Hopefully, we will see a sustained lowering in price but for right now, $32lb sounds a helluva lot better than the $50 plus in supermarkets. Plus, this is real blue crab meat. Yummy. Remember that this is FRESH crab meat so refrigerate and the shelf life is 7-10 days. It cannot be frozen. However, if you turn then into crab cakes, you can freeze those. That's the h

We will have Faroe Island salmon fillet once again. This 'salmon salmon' is so good and sushi grade to boot. The rest of the salmon world is going crazy right now as they recalibrate their projections for fish supply going forward so things are going kooky there. We don't like kooky when we buy fish. The result is kooky quality.

Mussels are the shellfish of the week. Oysters are Riptides from Maine. Frozen cod is back in. Fish stock is back in. Parsley garlic butter is back in. All the other usual suspects are available.

Bring a bag, folks, and here is the order form..
