September 9, 2021 Fitler/rittenhouse/Washington Squares form

One thing about Labor Day is that it is so relaxing. The long weekend, The time with family and friends. Read a book. Take a nap. And then the week begins and it feels like we were just fooling ourselves while we were really just blissfully nestling into a catapult basket. Tuesday comes around and Snaaaap!!! Woooosh!! Million miles an hour....Well, we gotta land eventually..

Aaanyway, we know that a few of you are going a little kooky with juggling a lot of things. We are feeling it too.

First up on the docket is fresh mahi mahi from the Gulf of Mexico. This majestic fish is such fun to cook up on a grill, broiled or pan roasted. It can take a lot of heavy spicing, it would take well to the miso glaze or Mediterranean marinade and, of course, tacos!! We love our fresh mahi because it is so moist and flavorful. If you haven't tried it from us, give it a go. It may change your mind about this fish.

Second, dry scallops were so popular last week that we thought we should do it again. Gorgeous dishes prepared by you all out there so why not have more while we can. We will do the same thing and bag them up in 1lb increments. It was definitely nice to have some after not having any all summer, practically.

The salmon of the week is Faroe Island salmon fillet. This is one of our favorite 'salmon salmon'  and for many of you too. It is sushi grade and loves our miso glaze! Speaking of that glaze, have you tried it with veggies? No? You haven't lived....

We will be offering a different kind of shumai this week along with the shrimp ones. These are crab shumai! They will come in bags of 30 and are a little more expensive since crab meat is through the roof but still a great deal. There is a limited quantity so don't hate us if it sells out. We will try to get more in the future. Prepare it the same way. Simply steamed and dip into our ponzu sauce or pan fried like potstickers and do the same.

Smoked fish is varied again this week with smoked trout, trout roe and kippered salmon added to the mix. The shelf life on these products is close to a month so perfect for those who are breaking fast next week. Also, as promised, we will have a great cheese selection from our friend, Ann, over at Third Wheel Cheese Co in West Philly. She put together a great assortment of four cheeses for you all. You can see the list on the order form and go to her website for more info.

Clams are the shellfish of the week. Oysters are Gowanbraes from PEI. These are special oysters that rarely ever come south. They are quite prized up in Canada. Not to be missedAll other usual suspects are available too.

Take a breathe. Slow down. It's all going to be ok. Let's get to it. Here is the order form.
