AUGUST 23, 2021 SMALL WORLD SEAFOOD UPDATE

So, the experiment with a new email sender seemed to work pretty good. Still. a few of you had the email go to spam or promotions folders and some had the email delayed. Just be aware that it is not us doing that. Email providers are worried about viruses and ransomware and seem to be trying to place the burden of authenticity onto you, the recipient. You have to do some sorting from your end to make sure that if emails don't go to your main inbox, you can figure out how to let your provider know that it is safe in the future.

.If it goes elsewhere, you could always mark it as 'not spam' and hopefully that will work for next time. If you use gmail and it goes to your promotions folder, drag the email and drop it into your primary folder. Always know that these emails also get posted to our website so you could always go there to read up or to get the order. form which will be posted to the site Wednesday as well as being sent by email..if you remember, that is..

Boy, what fun last week wit hall the soft shells and bronzini!! You can kind of feel the summer tapering a bit in the color of the sky and in our moods as we kind of get nearer to the fall. I have to say that i am not looking forward to winter but fall is always nice. I wish the fall came in the spring sometimes. That way, we could celebrate the end of winter with a colorful display of leaves and foliage. Wouldn't that make more sense? Stupid nature...

Aaanyway, I am kind of rambling on because I am avoiding talking about what we will feature this week. Look, we just had a hurricane cross the gulf and slam Mexico, another one drench the gulf states moving up into south causing all kinds of flooding and ANOTHER one pounding Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut along with parts of North Jersey. Meaning? Very few boats out there along the coast from Mexico aaaalllllll the way along and up to Maine. So? Question marks. Now, today is bringing some hints of stuff that could be really fun. REALLY FUN! I don't want to jinx it so I am not going to say except that we are talking about maybe some sushi quality fishes. That's all I can say about that so you will have to wait, tortured in anticipation.

One thing is for sure. The salmon of the week will be Steelhead trout. That magnificent sushi grade fish that melts in your mouth. Sooo good. And paired with our miso glaze...OMG...Unbelievable...

Clams are the shellfish of the week. Oysters will be Canada Cups out of PEI. Squid is back. Octopus is still around. Unagi (or eel) is still around and that's all i got so far.

Well, as I tried to tap dance around giving you some insight into what will be on the menu this week, it got me thinking. It's been a while since i posted a dance vid. Maybe this is a good time. We are all sensing  time move faster, stress mounting and maybe a little loss of control. Maybe we just have to put in a little effort into slowing down a minute and enjoying a thing or two, no? Have fun with this.
