August 16, 2021 Small World Seafood Update
Well, i hope i am reaching somebody out there. This is kind of like flying out into space for the first time and you have no idea if it is going to work. So, many of you have been having problems receiving emails from us with some going to spam folders, trash folders, delayed by a couple fo hours or not receiving them at all. We've decided to try using a different service from Goggle groups in an attempt to see if it can make a difference. So, here goes. Maybe I am yelling into an empty canyon here with no one around or maybe this works. If you do receive this email into your primary inbox, please email us back to let us know. Actually, let us know even if it goes to a different folder andwhere it went. If it goes elsewhere, you could always mark it as 'not spam' and hopefully that will work for next time. Always know that these emails also get posted to our website so you could always go there to read up or to order...if you remember, that is..
Aaaaanyway, tons of fun last week for so many with the halibut and the char not to mention that delicious mackerel!. As we are getting more concerned about dining out due to rule changes and the delta variant, cooking at home has become quite the elevated game. Actually, looking at people's dishes on our instagram page shows you just how much the culinary arc has curved up. Wow!! Honestly, just as nice if not nicer than what most restaurants can do and so much cheaper that you could spent more on wine...and it's still chaeper than going out!!
This weelk, we have a couple of treats for you. The first is something many of you have been asking for. We haven't done in in a few months and that is Branzino! Yes, we will be selling it in two forms - fillets as well as whole fish scaled and gutted. Your choice. Just because going out has become less attractive doesn't mean we need to compromise our tastes. We have some great recipes on our website for flillets as well as whole fish so have fun with that!
Second (or is it third?) is something that we usually see in the Springtime and early summer but has a quick reappearance right about now. Kind of what happened with the halibut last week. And that is.......SOFT SHELLS!!! Yes, we've all been craving crabmeat but it's been so bloody expensive so here we have a chance to dig in! This will indeed be the last time we see soft shells until next year so...Abd by the way, they freeze really well. We will clean them so they will be ready to cook. As for a recipe, that recipe I posted to our website with the slow cook method is absolutely a must try. My lord, the sauce it produces...
The last feature is the salmon of the week. we will be selling Faroe Island Atlantic salmon fillets!! This sushi grade salmon is farm raised in the pristine waters of the Faroe islands in the North Altlantic. Just gorgeous stuff. And this "salmon salmon' is really top of the line stuff..
Mussels are the shelllfish this week. Oysters will be Savage Blonds from PEI. Shumai is around. Miso glaze is around. Octopus and eel are around.
Aaaaand, that's it from me. I hope someone gets to read this...Oish!!
Look out for the order form Wednesday at 11am.
Peace
