HELLO EVERYBODY!!
We have a lot to discuss today. First of all, someone on Nextdoor asked about this little truck supposedly selling seafood in the neighborhood and so many of you responded with such amazing feedback to them. We are touched that you feel so strongly about what we are doing. It is totally gratifying for us as well. On the other hand, so many people have signed up to receive order forms that it, basically, broke the bank, if you will. You see, google groups only allows you to add 100 people per day. We are going to piss off a lot of people today because they won't be able to order until next week. C'est la vie.
Next on the agenda is that we are going to launch a Square order platform today. We tested it out on a few people last week and ironed out a few of the bugs. You will now be able to pay with other forms besides Paypal and it will remember your payment form for future purchases. This being said, i will ask all of you to be a little patient with us as we try to checkout everyone in line in a new way. It could go very smoothly or be a total disaster. I'm kidding. We'll be fine. You are all nice people and we can get through this.
So, a few things about the special items for the week. Wahoo is on the menu this week! (I hope I'm not the only saying 'Wahooooo!! as I read that). This is a marvelous fish coming from the Caribbean that is extremely versatile in the sense that it could be grilled, sauteed, fried, roasted, steamed, braised and ceviched. I included a nice recipe on the last email for grilled skewers which is available on our website, smallworldseafood.com, thatwould be perfect for this. Every chef I ever mention this fish to always says, 'I LOVE wahoo!'
Psst...Lobster meat is back as well!! Cooked claw and knuckle meat that is so delicious for a lobster roll or in a delish mac & cheese. 1 pound containers are a little cheaper as the price on lobster has gone down a tad. $32 a pound down from $35. Here is a reminder video to check out also available in the website.

Also, I brought in some fresh (not pasteurized) Jumbo Lump crab meat! This tasty meat comes from Venezuela and is picked from the same blue crab species that we find in the US. At $23 a pound, this is quite a treat on salads or added to a crab cake recipe that starts with lump meat. When there is fresh around, you gotta take advantage, folks...
Mussels were a little bit of a problem for some people the past two weeks. The wild Maine mussels, although I love them when they are good, can be a little inconsistent. So, by popular demand, PEI mussels are back!!! Same 2lb bags. Same $8 a bag price. Much more consistent, less grit and super tasty.
Oysters for the week are La Saint Simon from New Brunswick, Canada. Tasty little treats, they are.
Phew! I feel like there is a lot to digest here so I think I will end it. Hopefully everything works out with the online checkout for everybody but if there are some issues, I know you know how to reach me. Here is the link. Have at it and wish us luck..
