APRIL 20, 2020

 Good morning, everyone!

I hate to say that I am kind of getting used to this craziness but I kind of am. Or maybe i am just getting used to being crazy. Who knows.

Anyway, the response this past week has been tremendous!. The Philadelphian was a great stop for us on many levels. First, people there have been very active at communicating what we were doing. Thanks to everyone there for that! Keep it up! Secondly, everyone there was so kind and grateful that this really brought purpose that what we are doing here. Our hearts were full, for sure, so thank you for that.

The three stops worked out really well. I think it made it a little easier for people to pop out of their homes and pick up closer to where they live.

Also, halibut cheeks selling out in the first hour?!?!?!? Unbelievable that 20 pounds could sell so quickly. You guys rock! Anyone out there that worked in restaurants knows how tough it is to sell a specialty item like that. Skate wing flew out as well (sorry for the pun). Oysters may be a new permanent addition. And so many compliments on the salmon! What you see there is the difference between what restaurants would get and what was available to consumers through supermarkets. Fresher and higher quality. The taste alone speaks for itself. Same with scallops.

We've been admiring the preparations on our instagram page @smallworldseafood!. People are having fun playing with their food! What else are you going to do, huh? Maybe start off with some oysters on a Friday evening with a nice glass of wine and then on to a nice seafood dinner. Doesn't get better than that! Even if we are stuck inside.

I am not sure what is in store for this week. As I have explained to many of you, I look for the freshest fish every week. By Wednesday, I have a good idea and that's why the  order form goes out then. I am looking out for Halibut though. Alaska season opened last week meaning more fish in the markets meaning more affordable price for higher quality. Win, win. Also, mako could be in the offering. Great steaky fish perfect for the  grill or roasting or braising. We shall see.

Anyway, once again if you would like to send the link to sign up to some of your friends and neighbors, please do so. You can copy and send this:

The order form will go out Wednesday at 11am so look out for interesting stuff.

Thank you
