Week of February 10, 2025 - Small World Seafood Update [FIT/RITT/WASH]

Hello everybody!!

Woooooooooooohooooooooooooo!!!! Soar, Eagles, Soar!!! Wow!! Now, I love it when one of our dear teams win but there is something absolutely exhilarating about demolishing really good teams..What a performance for the ages...My self-worth has really gone up a couple of notches...

Trying to get back to earth here, we gotta talk logistics and parade. So, the parade is Friday as everybody knows. That won't stop us from coming to all stops. We have a plan for that. The issue may be with some of you trying to get to us or figuring out how to get your seafood if you are not planning to come into the city for work. So, here are your options:

1. You can pick up Thursday. So, Thursday isn't a problem getting around. You can use the order form link from a previous email to order on Wednesday to pick up in FaIrmount or at our shop. A few of you do that already and we are totally cool with that.

2. You can order Thursday morning and still come to our shop Thursday afternoon to pick up. We will open up the pick up times this Thursday. Usually, those times are 3-6pm but we will allow pickups between noon and 6pm this coming Thursday to help things out.

3. You can pick up Saturday morning. You can order for Friday pick up and come to our shop on Saturday morning between 9am and Noon. If you choose this option, please simply reply to the email confirmation for your order that you would like to do that.

Any other questions, just email me. We can help you out. It is Valentine's Day weekend after all and we have some pretty cool stuff things planned for this week...

From the Birds to the fish...Faroe Island salmon is back this week! So, fresh sushi grade salmon for you all! People certainly had fun with the steelhead last week. We'll see that again...

Next up is something that we sometimes see in February even though the main season starts in April...halibut from Nova Scotia!!!! Yup, we had the benefit of the threat of tariffs on Canadian products  recently that caused them to flood the market before they would kick in and raise the price on their product. So we grabbed a bunch and blast froze and vac packed it! Just working the markets over here...

Last year, we offered up some frozen Dover Sole from Holland and that was a great hit! A really fun fish to work at home and usually costs a fortune in resto.. I posted a great video on how to peel the skin off, pan sear it and even fillet it off the bone. A truly classic French restaurant item with all the tableside hooplah..greart stuff!

And what is Valentine's Day with lobster tails, right??? So more South African tails 5/6oz each, two per order. These are the best of the best! Packed with meat and so friggin tasty!

We thought that having more Super frozen Otoro this week, as well, would be great! Hey, gotta celebrate the love of our city and relationships, right? A little splurge once in a while...

And since people will be doing lots of fun foodie things over the weekend, how about a little foie gras slices to posh things up a bit? I'll never say no....A real treat to make at home..

And with the holiday, how about more lobster ravioli, no? Yes. Matt from Settantatre Pasta Co made more for us along with more Eagles green spinach linguini!!!

Oysters from Maine this week will be more (City of Brotherly) Love Points. Shelf life is 10 days so perfect for the whole weekend...

And so much great feedback on the Seed Butter tahini from Mother Butter. That stuff is insanely good..great as a spread, great for smoothies, makes an awesome seed tahini dressing..and made by a local gal in Kensington.

Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week...with some spinach linguini, best cheap meal ever... We have lonsa and smoked fish and tahini...So many good things.. Oh, and babka kits too..breath, everyone..

Plenty of crab meat, shrimp, etc....

I know, I know..Lots of words...

Anyway, as usual, I have to thank all of you guys for being in our lives. What an incredible community we live in...

Look out for the order form Thursday at 9am.
