Week of February 17, 2025 - Fit/Ritt/Wash Sq Order Form
Hello everybody!!
You can definitely see the days getting longer. Love that. The sunrise is earlier and earlier and the sunset is later and later. You know? One more month and the equinox is here. The first day of Spring where the light has battled through the winter losing to the power of the night only to match it in time and intensity. The comeback. The return. The rebirth. All of nature follows the cycle. Very exciting stuff...
Anyway, let's get to the here and now! Black Cod baby!!! I am so proud of you guys preparing this dish at home like top chefs. The secret being that it is so easy! Thaw out the whole sides, marinate in our miso glaze for a full two days, bake at 450F for 10 minutes, broil for 5 and voila!!!! Nobu Miso Black Cod for a fraction of the price!! And YOU did it!! (By the way, you can miso glaze salmon the same way but you only need 24 hours to marinate...just putting it out there..)
Also on the docket is some local monkfish fillets from Rhode Island! Great fish to slice up and pan sear, roast wholw in the oven (consider wrapping in proscuitto for one deiish dish), or popped into a stew or broth. Poor man's lobster, it is called, but it has a thing on its own in my opinion. Proper good in the winter months especially..
We have fresh Faroe Island salmon as well as fresh Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade and both definitely best in class. I love making a poke bowl with a combination of the two. So pretty and so good!
We have more cod cheeks, rock shrimp, lobster tails and butterflied branzini. We also have some whole scaled and gutted branzini. Hey, it's still cold out there but our minds are starting to drift toward thinking of summer. Well, there you go...
For special items, we have Osetra caviar, lobster ravioli. More fresh spinach linguini. More mutliseed tahini which is bomb. More smoked chorizo from El Camino.
PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week. Pair that with some spinach linguini pasta for the best cheap meal ever. Norembega oysters from Maine this week. Nice and plump.
And babka kits are back..
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...You'll never need to leave the house...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp, crab meat, and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...Coddy Canes are back too..
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
