Week of January 20, 2025 - Fit/Ritt/Wash Sq Order Form
Hello everybody!!
It's cold out there but we gonna have fun here. What else can you do, huh? Okay let's roll right into it...
First up is some beautiful monkfish fillet from Rhode Island. A terrific fish also known as the 'poor man's lobster' for it's texture and taste. Great stuff. Superb in stews and soups since it really holds it's firmness. But, you can wrap it in proscuitto and bake it, you can pan sear it simply, you can slice it into medallions and pan sear those..We blast freeze them and vac pack them in one pound bags..
We've been having fun with cod cheeks for a little while now and will continue to do so. More this week. Along with that, we managed to get our hands on a small shot of halibut cheeks! Bigger in size and with the flavor of halibut, it is quite the delicacy..
We have local herring fillets! Again, one of those fish that is not for everyone but anyone who loves it, really loves it..Here's to you..
We have more fresh Moroccan sardines. More barbouni, more wild rock shrimp. More butteflied branzini..
Faroe Island salmon is back in the house! Sushi grade and top in class, for sure.
And then onto the fun stuff. We ran a feature with Kristin, owner of Mother Butter in Kensington about a year ago with a multiseed butter spread that was very tasty. This go around, she's made a batch with no sugar or sweetener and it is just excellent. Actually, if you like tahini, that's what this is except instead of only having sesame seeds in it, it has pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds along with the sesame. You use just like you would regular tahini. Let me tell ya, it is amazing stuff. Better, in my opinion...
Also, we made the filling and gave it to Matt at Settantatre Pasta Co to make in his ravioli machine using pierogi dough...Yup! Smoked trout pierogies!! I posted a recipe on our site on how to prepare them at home. Great stuff!!
Wagyu ground beef is back. Spinach linguini is in the house. More tuna meatballs. More shrimp and crab canneloni..
PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week. Pair that with some spinach linguini pasta for the best cheap meal ever. Johns River oysters from Maine this week. Nice and plump.
And babka kits are back as well as puff pastry dough..
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...You'll never need to leave the house...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp, crab meat, and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...Coddy Canes are back too..
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
