Week of March 31, 2025 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
I love this time of year. Spring is manifesting itself in so many ways. The trees blooming, the more intense rains, the birds chirping away early in the morning, the Ice cream truck making its rounds, the cut grass giving me one helluva sneeze..And people focussing on losing a couple of pounds for a summer bod by eating more fish. Good on ya..
Well, this week, let's start things off with the fact that Faroe Island salmon is back! We should be good to go from now on as the weather up in the North Atlantic is getting less nasty. Sushi grade, the Faroe Island's salmon is considered the best in the world. Within the Faroe Islands, Hiddenfjord is considered the best of them all. That's what we get and bring to you. The best of the best.
Next, I know a few of you are chomping at the bit to order your gefilte fish logs for Passover. These frozen logs have no filler and are really terrrific. Instructions are on the package on how to prepare it. You have a choice. Bake or boil. That is up to you. These things will sell out by next week so please try to order ahead...
With the weather breaking, the thought of having some fresh AA grade from Canada really burrows into my brain. I don't know why. It just does. Great to just pop in your mouth, have with a little sushi rice, on a poke bowl or made into a luxurious uni pasta with butter and chives. And with Matt from Settantatre Pasta Co back in action, we have fresh spaghetti to do just that!
We have been on a high Omega 3 kick for the past few months. I hope everyone is feeling smarter. At the very least, healthier. This week, we roll into some gorgeous Spanish mackerel fillets from Florida! Blast frozen and vac packed in 1lb bags. So good!!
And for a taste of the Mediterranean, we have some whole fresh sardines that we gut and blast freeze for you all! It is grilling season, baby!!
We continue on with Black Cod whole sides this week! Quick question. How many of you have become a star with your friends after you've prepared this for them Miso glazed? So many...You're welcome...
We have cod cheeks, rock shrimp, bay scallops..Both the rock shrimp and bays are sushi grade, by the way. We have Hokkaido sea scallops, sushi grade too...Branzini butterflied are a staple by now. And this week, you can get your hands on 1lb Caribbean red snappers from Guyana. This is the real red snapper. Blast frozen and vac packed....
Last week, we sold so many sesame bagels from Kismet Bagels! Well, we still have a few left over and we will blow them out at the same special price. Remember, keep them frozen til you are ready. Then, thaw on your counter for 30 minutes before you follow the baking instructions...
This week, we bring back our famous smoked albacore tuna spread! This stuff, omg. We blend smoked albacore with smoked mackerel and poached haddock to make an ocean fish spread that will knock you out. Such good stuff!!
Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week along with PEI mussels. Grab some pasta and cook away. Best cheap meal ever. Oysters are Mere Points from Maine..
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
