Week of December 9, 2024 - Chestnut Hill Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Well, we have so many cool things this week that I will just get into it without a little preamble. (And the crowd breathes a sigh of relief....)
Okay then! Fresh Greenland turbot fillet! Bone white, melts in your mouth. A medium sized cousin of halibut but from colder waters adding to the fat content and, therefore, the flavor and texture. A real winner.
Smelts. More this week for those who absolutely need these little bitties for the Seven Fishes. I feel ya. They are awesome! From the Canadian side of Lake Superior. Best table snack ever! Use some of our dredge and just fry them up!!
Fresh sardines from Morocco! For those who love to roast them or grill them up. This will transport you to the Mediterranean for sure! Blast frozen in one pound packs.
Speaking of travelling to the Med, barbouni! Or red mullet or rouget, this fish of many names is a pretty little thing. I know the Greek Orthodox Christmas could use some of these..
Cod cheeks! More from Iceland. A real winner and a terrific add on to a Cioppino or Paella or Bouillabaisse. hey, you gotta get to seven and it ain't that hard but it ain'[t that easy. This makes it easy..
Martha's VIneyard bay scallops. With an address like that, you know it's gotta be good and ain't cheap. But they are special for sure. Sweet, plump, sushi grade..
And then a special item we haven't really seen in years, fresh head on shell on wild shrimp from North Carolina! 16/20 grade meaning you get 16 to 20 per one pound bag. Blast frozen separately and packed up for you. Yum! Great for soups or stocks or just making a flavorful finger pickin' dish...
Yes on Faroe Island salmon as well as Hokkaido scallops. Both sushi grade whether fresh or blast frozen. More branzini too...
And as stated earlier in the week, there is a two bottle per order limit on the olive oil. They are limited in number available so if you can only grab one instead of two, please do that so more people who want some can get some. If we have extras, we will bring them to market. Promise.
Plus, we have more Oui Pastries pie dough as well as puff pastry dough. Makes your life easy. Oh, and babka kits....
Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week along with PEI mussels. Grab some pasta and cook away. Best cheap meal ever. Nonesuch Cocktails are the oysters this week from Maine. Exciting. These babies are just plump and juicy...
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
