Week of April 7, 2025 - Bryn Mawr Farmers Market Order Form

Hello everybody!!

Well, what a week. So, as happens every week anyway, prices fluctuate and some things become available or no longer are. That is the nature of buying fish. This week is no different, actually. There is always the opportunity to have fun with fish at a price and quality that beats the market. Market being supermarkets or restos. Look at it this way. I am your financial advisor when it comes to your seafood portfolio...

Okay. let's roll into it! So, good news on the gefilte fish logs front. Looked like we were not going to get more for this week. We sold a kazillion of them last week. Shevy from Chabad Fairmount was instrumental in helping us get those. This week, with Shevy loading the bases, Leah Goldman from Chabad Queen Village is coming through with her son delivering more! Grand Slam home run! What a team those two are and we are grateful to the both of them.

Plenty of Faroe Island salmon from Hiddenfjord this week. I know lots of you plan on grabbing a whole side for your tables. Have at it. Maybe apply one of our spice blends for a more exotic flavor. How about the harissa blend and then drizzle the baked salmon with a little Mother Butter tahini sauce? You can make that sauce by using blending it with garlic, lemon juice, water, salt, maybe some cumin if you like. Yum!

We have some more frozen hamachi loins in the house!! Also known as yellowtail in sushi restos, this is the real deal. Sushi grade!

Fish wise for the week, be got a nice shot of monkfish fillets from Rhode Island this week which we will blast freeze and vac pack. Also known as the poor man's lobster, this fish is quite fun to cook with since it really holds its shape when you slice it into pieces. It makes such a great addition to a soup or stew. Try our turmeric curry broth recipe on our site. Divine.

We have these wonderful skate cheeks that are so much fun to prepare as well! If you love cheeks, and so many of you do now, you gotta try these. They look like little chicken nuggets and are so good!

We have more Black Cod fillets as well as branzini butterflied. I don't think we could ever take the Black Cod (also known as sablefish) off the menu. It's a keeper. And why not? with both of these items, you can recreate restaurant quality meals at a fraction of the price and right now, that sounds like a pretty good thing...

We have more lobster tails, rock shrimp. We have branzini butterflied and a small shot of fresh sardines that are gutted and ready to grill up!!

As specials, we have another batch of gluten free swordfish meatballs in pesto cream sauce. A new fan favorite! And more parbaked sesame bagels from Kismet Bagels!! What a treat to have basically fresh out of the oven bagels in the morning...

This week, we have more of our famous smoked albacore tuna spread! This stuff, omg. We blend smoked albacore with smoked mackerel and poached haddock to make an ocean fish spread that will knock you out. Such good stuff!!

Littleneck clams and PEI mussels are the shellfish of the week. Swan Islands are the oysters from Maine this week. Nice and plump.

And Puff pastry dough from Oui Pastries is back!

See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...

And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...

I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...

Here is the order form. Bring a bag! Bring a bag! Bring a bag!
