Week of December 2, 2024 - Bryn Mawr Farmers Market Order Form
Hello everybody!!
Well, let the holiday season begin!!! This is time of year when time itself seems to flow at different rate. Turbo boost. Well, let's get right into it then.
And let's start with the olive oil. It is a special one. Single plot of land in Bavagna which is in the province of Umbria, Italy. A gorgeous place. Form one of our own, Tom Vitagliano, who is generous enough to go through the process of bottling it for us. Packed with polyphenols and full of flavor. Massive fruit! This oil was cold pressed from olives picked two weeks ago. The first press. Special stuff. It was a bumper crop this year too. You can order up to TWO bottles per order. Please respect that so as many people who want it can get it. if we have extras, we will definitely offer them up. Promise.
First fresh item this week is Tombo! From Hawaii and also known as albacore tuna, the Pacific albacore is redder and leaner than the albacore from our Atlantic shores. Sushi grade and just beautiful stuff. We always get raves about to from everyone..Poke bowls, baby!!!
Haddock. The prince of the cod family. Flaky, sweet in flavor and so versatile to cook with. Great to pan sear with a little of our dredge or roast in the oven. Comfort for sure.
What would this time of year be without smelts? Sad, I think. We brought in some perfect small smelts that we blast froze and vac packed. They are beautiful. From Lake Superior up in Canada. Get a little dredge on them, fry them up and snack away!!
Faroe Island salmon and Hokkaido scallops. Both best in class. Both sushi grade. Slice some of these up with the tombo and have yourself a great sushi night with family and friends! We have ponzu, wasabi, nori...everything you need...
Also, branzini butterflied and whole scaled and gutted daurades for the whole fish lovers!!!! Plus, we have more grouper fingers back in stock. These are nice 2oz small fillets perfect for finger food. Or a nice soup. Delish...Plus some osetra caviar for the holiday season..
Plus, we have Oui Pastries pie dough as well as puff pastry dough. Makes your life easy. Oh, and babka kits....
Lots of blast frozen options for you all to choose from too!! We have Scallops, salmon, sockeye, halibut, Bluefish, fluke, Chilean seabass, black cod...
Littleneck clams are the shellfish of the week along with PEI mussels. Grab some pasta and cook away. Best cheap meal ever. Nonesuch cocktails are the oysters this week from Maine. Exciting. These babies are just plump and juicy...
See what I mean?? All this good to stuff to choose from.... Life is good...
And don't forget your frozen shrimp and condiments and sauces...And dog treats for doggies...
I know, I know. Lots of words but, hey, consider the alternative...
