DECEMBER 2, 2020

Yay! We are back! I think we all missed you guys. We've been seeing each other almost every week since the end of March and, I gotta tell ya, absence does make the heart grow fonder.

So, one note to those who didn't read Monday's email (you should this month since a few interesting things are coming your way), we will be doing deliveries to your area on Tuesday instead of Thursday the week of Christmas as well as the week of New Years. Both eves fall on a Thursday. Just those two weeks so don't get confused.

This week for fish will be a couple of heavy hitters. Ahhh...it's good to be back..It just so happens that restaurants in the Northeast cities are mostly closed so we get the benefit of getting product that doesn't get redirected to the supermarket supply chain. We are going to do some really local stuff here, meaning New Jersey.

Albacore tuna!!! Sushi grade and absolutely beautiful fish. Great for sashimi, or poke, or poaching in olive oil (recipe on the website smallworldseafood.com) or sesame crusting like this:

Cheaper than the more well know yellowfin or bigeye tunas and not less delicious. If you did last month, do again. if you didn't last month, do.

Black sea bass from Jersey is back again! One of my favorite fish overall and my favorite of the bass family. Sweet, flaky and so easy to cook. Keep it simple people. Like the chef here from Gramercy Tavern in New York City at home:

Oysters this week are Irish Points from PEI. Love those. Mussels are back in the game this week. Fresh Venezuelan Jumbo lump is back a a tad cheaper. Peruvian scallops are here and always a treat. And fresh salmon is holding steady in price.

Our feature this week comes from one of my neighbor's family home, Villa Dei Sogni in Bevagna, Italy. The young organically grown olives they grow are of the Frantoio and Moraiolo varieties. The olives arecold pressed immediately after picking and then stored under vacuum until this week when it was bottled. This is the 2019 harvest. It just happens that Tom usually brought his oil here to give out to family, friends and associates for the holidays pre Covid. Well, that ain't happening this year. Sort of. As he says, and I agree, this stuff should be enjoyed by people, not sit in containers. The bottles are very pretty. The price is $15 for a 375ml bottle. Use it to finish a dish or simply with a little bread. Wow. What a flavor. Funny, huh? When I think of what people are stashing in their basement, this dude has ultra premium olive oil (insert inferiority complex here).

Anyway, that's it from me. We look forward to seeing you again. Here is the order form.
